Discover how to thrive in motherhood, not just survive.
Our Approach
-
Knowledge empowers us. We go beyond the physical aspects of pregnancy and childcare, exploring the emotional and psychological journeys of new motherhood. Normalizing these complexities, we advocate for comprehensive support that helps mothers to feel understood and validated.
-
Science grounds us. Developed at Columbia University, our program combines rigorous research (including our own) with practical applications, using proven methodologies to support maternal well-being.
-
Rituals build our resilience. We teach evidence-based wellness practices from positive psychology and contemplative traditions to enhance mothers' adaptive capacities and provide essential tools for navigating challenges in motherhood.
-
Belonging buoys us. Through peer connections, we create a nurturing community that reduces isolation and negative social comparisons and fosters meaningful support networks.
-
Matrescence reminds us that mothers matter. By prioritizing mothers’ needs, we challenge societal norms and ensure holistic well-being. We recognize that when mothers thrive, their families do too.

Our mission is to empower mothers to navigate these complexities with confidence and resilience, equipping them with knowledge and tools to foster greater self-awareness, prepare them for each stage of the journey, and encourage their personal growth.
We Define Mothers As…
Seed Mother™ defines mothers as all those who self-identify as a mother, who perform mothering labor (such that all genders can also mother, just as women do), or who make caregiving the next generation a central part of their lives, including all the ways people come to that work including via pregnancy, surrogacy, fostering, or adoption.
